William Hughes Head family papers, 1838-1947 (bulk 1845-1930).

Correspondence, sermons and writings reflect William H. Head's career as pastor and Baptist theologian. Other correspondence reflects the courtship of Will T. Head, Sr. and Varina Bonney and William T. Head, Jr.'s time at college in Mississippi before and after World War I. Letters written during World War I document the service of William Jr. in the military band of the 140th Field Artillery in Louisiana and France, and activities on the home front in Terry. Financial and legal records document the drugstore business of William Sr. Photographs and printed items largely reflect William Jr.'s service in the army. Correspondence, financial and legal papers belonging to the Bonney family document their involvement in the newspaper business. Other correspondence reflects personal and local news. Writings include Henry Smith Bonney's memoirs of his career in journalism.
